In order to better organize things, I created separate pages for the annual videos rather than just post them all directly on the home page.

2017 Updates and Videos

January 2nd, 2018

I haven’t really been keeping up with updates on the show this year. We moved into a new house so it was a complete redesign. I finally got four songs completed and running (even though I still wasn’t 100% happy with how they all came out) on Christmas Eve. Soon it will be time to take the lights down.

I’ve posted video of the completed songs for your viewing pleasure if you could not see them in person. In order to try to clean up this site a little, I created a new page for the 2017 videos rather than just post them directly on the home page.

You can find the 2017 videos here.

Videos are up…

January 9th, 2017

The 2016 videos are up. I apologize for the poor quality. I was a bit lazy this year and only got out to record the show once. Unfortunately that one time was slightly out of focus…

Now it’s just too late. I took the lights down over the weekend. I’ll try to do better next year.

Lights are up and the show is running…

December 5th, 2016

The lights are up and on nightly, and as of tonight, Monday, December 5, (well, last night actually) the shows are running hourly, starting at 6pm, with the last show starting at 9pm.

I currently have 6 songs in the show:

  • Wizards in Winter by Trans Siberian Orchestra
  • Christmas Canon Rock by Trans Siberian Orchestra
  • Wish Liszt by Trans Siberian Orchestra
  • All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey
  • Winter Wonderland (from Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights) by WDW Studio Orchestra and Singers
  • Mary, Did You Know? by Pentatonix

The entire show lasts about 23 minutes.

I will work on getting video up as soon as I can, but in the mean time, here are pictures of my display.

2015 Show Information

November 27th, 2015

Well, a couple of updates on the status of this year’s lights. First, we moved. Check out the Map page for the new address. Second, I’m off to a very late start this year, and I may not get any shows running this year. Between the fact that I’ve moved, which means that I need to redesign the entire display and show sequencing, and life getting in the way, it’s not looking good. Yesterday was Thanksgiving, and I’m not even ready to turn the lights on, let alone make them dance.

If I get the working this year, updates and video will be posted.

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.

Show’s over for this year…

January 4th, 2015

That’s the end of the shows for this year. January 1, 2015 was my last running. If you missed it, you can see the video from this year’s show in previous posts. The lights themselves will still be up and on, probably until next weekend (1/10/2015) when I will start to take them down, if you were interested in just seeing the decorations.

Thanks for coming, hope to see you again next year.

Show starts tonight…finally

December 11th, 2014

I’ve finally given in and am ready to just start the show. Starting tonight, 12/11, the show will start at 6:00pm with the same song line up as last year. I was delayed by some technical difficulties, various lights going out, and having to update my sequences for changes made to the layout this year. I also held out a little longer because I had hoped to have a new song or two to add, but it’s not working out too well, so I figured I’d just start the show with what I have. Enjoy.

The lights are on, but no shows yet…

November 30th, 2014

So I think I’ve got everything fixed and ready to light the lights starting tonight; all 16,360 of them. I still have to update my music sequences from last year to match the changes I’ve made, so I’m still hoping to have at least a few songs running by next weekend…

Quick Update

November 29th, 2014

So do to illness (mine) and some technical difficulties, the lights are still not up. I just finished connecting everything today, and still have some testing to do and a controller repair to make before I am ready to even turn them on. Let’s not even discuss running a show. I made enough changes to my layout (channel numbers changed, capacity was added, and some items that were combined last year are now on their own channel) that I now have to go back and update all of my sequences to reflect these changes.

I hope to have the lights on by tomorrow night, and I’m really trying to get the show running by next weekend, 12/6/2014. There is a good chance however, that, because of these delays, I am going to bow out of the 2014 DeBary Christmas Light Display contest. I’ll give someone else a chance to win this year…

The 2014 Season is upon us…

November 12th, 2014

So for anyone that may actually check this site, other than the spam bots, I figured I’d post an update to let you know that the lights started going up last weekend. Ok, well I started putting the lights up, although it would be nice if they would go up by themselves…

I am looking to expand the display a bit this year, I’ve added two additional 16-channel boxes, bringing my grand total up to 116 channels. However I really have no idea how I’m going to use them yet…

I hope to finish putting up the lights over next weekend, 11/15 – 16, and then have them powered up by the following week. Unfortunately adding more capacity means that I need to reprogram all of my sequences for the new additions.

If all goes well, I’m hoping to have the shows starting soon after Thanksgiving…
